Tonight was our last service night as a group at Bethany Presbyterian Church. For 9 months our group has spent one Wednesday a month serving dinner to the Queen Anne community alongside the volunteers and employees of the WND. Each time we serve, we are once again reminded of our connection to those in our greater community. We talk with the guests and laugh and share stories. We hear "thank you so much" from the community we serve and are humbled to have the chance to share this experience.
Tonight, Steven T. broke out his guitar at Karen's request and played a few songs for the guests. As always they worked hard, talking with the guests and feeling right at home. After clean up was over, Karen and Janet brought out treats for the kids -- cupcakes to say thank you! Though it is our last night as a Crew, many in the group are making plans to return next year.
This is the second time we've served with Bethany as part of an Irish Studies Crew and I have a pretty good feeling it won't be our last! Thank you, Bethany WND group for always welcoming us and for letting us share in your good work.
Love,
Mrs. P-Haas
